The Hodovytsia Lyceum academic building houses student computer labs, hosts programming courses, and acts as a vital gathering place for local parent groups. However, because its exterior facade remains unplastered and uninsulated, the building suffers from significant heat loss during colder months, causing uncomfortable learning conditions and reduced energy efficiency.
Insulating the brick facade will cut heat loss and significantly lower winter heating costs. It will further help prevent mold and mildew, protect the brickwork from seasonal thermal damage, enhance soundproofing, and maintain a warm, welcoming environment for the school’s 164 students (both sponsored and non-sponsored), staff, and visitors.
Project objectives include:
- Preparing exterior walls for insulation
- Installing the main profile and insulation
- Reinforcing, priming, and painting the facade
Upon completion, the school administration will assume full responsibility for maintaining the newly renovated building. Under the Chalice site director’s oversight, strict financial standards and transparent reporting will guarantee project quality and ensure donor contributions are managed with the utmost care. Although the school is located in an area unlikely to be directly affected by the ongoing war, appropriate mitigation strategies are in place to address potential disruptions, such as power outages and labor shortages.
This important capital project will boost student motivation, strengthen community engagement, and help provide long-term access to a safe, quality learning environment for children in the Lviv area.
