Where we work

Chalice has been serving children in Ukraine since 1998 in three sites in both rural and urban communities. All sponsored families are feeling the impact of the conflict in their country.

The price of essentials such as food and heating has skyrocketed. Since 2020, many families have lost their jobs and incomes. The support of Chalice sponsors has been a lifeline during these times.

In the areas where Chalice works, there are high rates of chronic illness and cognitive disabilities such as cerebral palsy and Down syndrome. Low-income families have little access to quality medical services, because public hospitals are underfunded and ill-equipped.

Together with our site partners, we support children to pursue higher education and develop their gifts. We assist families to access rehabilitation, dental care, counseling, and other essential healthcare. We support children and families by improving local schools, libraries, hospitals, community centers.
