In the heart of the Ternopil Region of Ukraine, where the realities of war continue to cast uncertainty over daily life, a quiet transformation is taking place. Behind the walls of the Kopychyntsi Art School, hope is being rebuilt classroom by classroom. What once stood as an aging and deteriorating facility is now becoming a sanctuary of creativity, safety, and dignity for hundreds of children whose futures depend on opportunities like this.
For years, students and teachers struggled with outdated infrastructure, worn flooring, poor heating systems, and unsafe learning conditions. During harsh winters, children attempted to learn in cold classrooms that limited their ability to focus, dream, and fully express their artistic talents. In a region already burdened by the instability of conflict, the school’s deterioration threatened to deprive an entire generation of children of a safe place to learn and grow.
Today, because of compassionate partners and generous supporters, that story is beginning to change.
The Ternopil Renovation of Kopychyntsi Art School project is a six-month capital initiative focused on the complete renovation of 12 classrooms within the School of Arts in Kopychyntsi. The project includes the modernization of heating systems, installation of improved lighting, replacement of flooring, renovation of walls and ceilings, and the creation of a modern, energy-efficient environment where children can safely study and develop their creative gifts.
More than 200 children will directly benefit from these improvements, alongside families and members of the broader community who depend on the school as a center for cultural life and education.
