At our Haiti North site, we continue to address the highly volatile environment families are facing daily. Growing political instability, lack of employment, gang violence, and ongoing disruptions to even basic services are contributing to the substantial rise in costs.
Families lack access to sufficient, nutritious food, putting them at significant risk of food insecurity and malnutrition. Unfortunately, many children are having to eat smaller meals or skip meals entirely.
This one-year nutrition-support program will directly help 1,507 sponsored and non-sponsored children, their families, and site staff, through quarterly payments for essential food-item purchases. This program will also ensure the school feeding program’s operation through a contribution to seven school cooks’ salaries. Indirectly, this nutrition initiative will help 5,100 Haitians in a time of extreme uncertainty.

The program will be closely monitored, with the Chalice site Director regularly overseeing the implementation and participant
verification process, while a dedicated Chalice finance team will manage the financial reporting and program accountability throughout the year. Chalice field workers and Family Circle leaders will ensure ongoing interaction with the families receiving support.
With this support, families will be able to access food more consistently, reduce immediate hunger, and alleviate financial pressure during this challenging time.
