Vissa

Vissa is a very ambitious nine-year-old girl from Managalagiri, India. She is currently in Grade 4 and loves literature class because she also likes to read. Vissa’s father recently passed away from liver failure and now, she is more determined than ever to become a doctor so she can help sick people. When she is not studying or singing, one of her favourite hobbies, Vissa loves to play hockey whenever she gets the chance.

Since her father’s passing, Vissa’s mother and grandmother have been living in a small home with an asbestos roof. Vissa’s mother has serious health issues but continues to work when she can sweeping floors while her grandmother works as a cook at the local hospital. Together, their income is not enough to cover the family’s basic needs, so being part of the sponsorship program would  greatly benefit this very ambitious little girl. It would also help ease the financial burden on her mother and grandmother and ensure Vissa remains in school so she can eventually achieve her goal of becoming a doctor.

Sponsorship enables children to attend class every day and have the supplies they need to complete their education, grow up healthy, and achieve their dreams.
