Teresa

Teresa is a happy 78-year-old widow living in Nanyuki, Kenya in a small one-room house made of sheet-metal. After Teresa’s husband passed in 2019, she has been living on her own. Teresa is unable to read or write but greatly enjoys growing vegetables in her garden.

Teresa cannot work and relies on her two daughters for help. Unfortunately, they are unemployed and have their own families to care for, so Teresa often lacks the basic necessities, including food. Sponsoring Teresa, would help her tremendously and ensure she receives the basic essentials to enjoy life.

Sponsorship enables elders to eat well, access healthcare and medication, and connect socially with a community that fosters a sense of belonging.
