Taonga

Taonga is an ambitious 14-year-old living in Mwalubemba, a small village outside Kasisi Mission, Zambia. Currently in Grade 4, Taonga already has big dreams of attending law school after finishing secondary school, hoping to become a lawyer. Right now, she is working hard at her studies to achieve good grades. Her favourite subjects are math, science, and language arts (Chinyanja). When she is not studying, Taonga really enjoys playing soccer and helping her mother with chores.

Taonga lives with her mother, two brothers, and sister. As a single parent, Taonga’s mother does her best to support the children through a small food shop in the village market. While she works hard, the money she makes is not enough to sustain the family needs, including school fees. Sponsoring Taonga would greatly help this struggling family and ensure that Taonga can continue in school with all the academic resources she needs to succeed and achieve her goal of becoming a lawyer.

Sponsorship enables children to attend class every day and have the supplies they need to complete their education, grow up healthy, and achieve their dreams.
