Eight-year-old Tabita lives in Powanga, a remote village near Kasisi Mission, Zambia. Tabita is in Grade 3 and loves school very much because she likes to learn new things that she says will help her succeed in the future. While she really likes languages, she also enjoys art class.
She has three best friends, Letisha, Grace, and Fridah, and together, they like to spend their free time drawing pictures and colouring. When Tabita finishes secondary school, she hopes to become a nurse because she wants to help sick people.
Tabita lives with her parents, grandmother, and two sisters. Her father does piece work and her mother stays home to care for the family. While her father works hard to support the family, it is often difficult to make enough to sustain their needs. Sponsoring Tabita would be a huge relief to this struggling family and would greatly help relieve some of their financial burden. It would also ensure that Tabita can continue school with all the academic resources she needs to gain a strong educational foundation that will allow her to achieve her goal of becoming a nurse.
Sponsorship enables children to attend class every day and have the supplies they need to complete their education, grow up healthy, and achieve their dreams.
