Daphterlande

Daphterlande is a dedicated 15-year-old Grade 8 student from Carrefour Sanon, Haiti. Daphterlande has a genuine love of plants and is interested in environmental science, hoping to become an agronomist after finishing school. In the meantime, she is working hard studying to ensure she keeps her grades up. When Daphterlande is not in school or studying, she likes to clean the house or spend her time in the garden, exploring ways to turn her hobby into a career.

Daphterlande lives with her parents and two sisters. Her grandmother also lives with the family in their small wood home. Her father is a farmer, while her mother works as a salesperson. They both work hard, but providing for the family on minimal wages can be challenging, especially with the growing school fees. Being part of the sponsorship program would be a wonderful opportunity for Daphterlande and a big financial relief for her family. It would ensure that she can continue school, where she can gain a strong foundational education that will allow her to go on to achieve her goal of becoming an agronomist.
