Salome

Salome is a sociable 82-year-old woman living in a plywood home with a sheet-metal roof in Narumoru, Kenya. Salome was a farmer, although she can no longer continue due to her health. She still lives on her farm and enjoys gardening and socializing but rarely leaves home because of her age and health.

She has four children who are also farmers and they do their best to help her but they are unable to support her financially. She is on several costly medications, which she often has to skip due to finances. Sponsoring Salome would ensure she is able to take care of her daily needs and would be a great relief to her family.

Sponsorship enables elders to eat well, access healthcare and medication, and connect socially with a community that fosters a sense of belonging.
