Ruben

This enthusiastic 14-year-old boy lives in San Pedro de Ycuamandiju, Paraguay. Ruben is currently in Grade 7 and is especially enjoying his literature class. When he has free time, Ruben likes to write and play soccer with his friends. Ruben is a very kind boy who always takes care of his younger siblings when his parents work. He has a goal of becoming a military officer when he finishes school, so he is working hard at his studies so he can ensure he and his family have a better life.

Ruben lives with his parents and four brothers in a very small home with a cardboard roof, which can be challenging with the weather. While his parents do their best to care for the children, their meager income is not enough to cover their basic needs, including the school fees for the children. For Ruben, being part of the sponsorship program would be a wonderful opportunity, as it would not only help relieve the family’s financial strain, but it would also ensure he is able to continue his studies with everything he needs to be successful and eventually achieve his goal of becoming a military officer.

Sponsorship enables children to attend class every day and have the supplies they need to complete their education, grow up healthy, and achieve their dreams.
