Captain

Captain is a caring seven-year-old boy from Mwendalubi village, a small community near Lyumbika, Zambia. Although he is young and just in Grade 1, Captain already knows he wants to become a police officer when he graduates from school. In the meantime, he is enjoying his social studies class and loves to draw. He likes playing soccer with his brother, Paul, and drinking munkoyo, a local favourite drink.

Captain lives with his grandparents, aunts, brother, and cousins in a small home. His grandparents and aunts are small-scale farmers who grow maize, soyabeans, and sunflowers to help feed the large family. Being part of the sponsorship program would be a wonderful opportunity for Captain and would go a long way to helping ease this family’s financial strain. It would also ensure Captain remains in school, where he can get the foundational education he will need to be successful and achieve his goal of becoming a police officer.

Sponsorship enables children to attend class every day and have the supplies they need to complete their education, grow up healthy, and achieve their dreams.
