Kennedy

Kennedy has a big dream of becoming a police officer when he finishes school. This dedicated six-year-old boy is from Muwana Village, a small community near Sukuta, Zambia. He is a very social little boy, who really enjoys playing local games, like soccer, with his best friends Edward and Blessings. After they finish playing they also like to have a traditional drink called munkoyo, made from maize porridge and munkoyo roots.

Kennedy lives with his mother, three sisters, grandparents, and cousins, all in three rooms of a thatched-roof home in great disrepair. As a single parent, Kennedy’s mother does her best to care for her children. She, and the other family members, all work as small-scale farmers growing maize and sunflowers to help feed the family. For Kennedy, being part of the sponsorship program would be a significant opportunity as it would help relieve the family’s financial strain and ensure he is able to continue his studies with everything he needs to be successful, eventually achieving his goal of becoming a police officer.

Sponsorship enables children to attend class every day and have the supplies they need to complete their education, grow up healthy, and achieve their dreams.
