Ronil

Ronil is a15-year-old boy from Brgy. Calomotan in Samar, Philippines. He is in Grade 8 and really enjoys Home Economics class. He values education because he understands how important it is for his future. When he finishes his studies, he is looking forward to becoming a police officer. When Ronil is not studying, he enjoys playing local games and swimming with his friends. He also enjoys playing badminton and reading.

Ronil has a big and happy family, and is the 10th child out of his three sisters and six brothers. The large family lives in a small home made of coconut wood and a palm leaf roof. His parents support their needs through small-scale farming. Unfortunately, many of his siblings only graduated elementary school, unable to go on to high school because of financial constraints. Ronil is determined to follow a different path. Being part of the sponsorship program would not only ease some of this struggling family’s financial worries, but it would ensure that Ronil is able to finish his studies with the foundational education needed to eventually attend post-secondary school and achieve his goal of becoming a police officer.
