Davies

This sweet little boy is three years old. Davies lives in Mwendalubi Village, Zambia where he attends preschool. He is enjoying meeting new people at school, and when he is not in class, he likes to play soccer with his friends, Paul and Daniel. Despite his very young age, Davies says he wants to become a teacher when he grows up.

Davies lives with his parents and brother. His father is a small-scale farmer in the village, growing maize and sunflowers for home consumption, while his mother does piece work. While they work hard to support the family, the meager income they earn is not enough to cover their daily needs, including education for the children. Being part of the sponsorship program would not only ease some of this struggling family’s financial worries, but it would ensure that Davies is able to finish his studies with the foundational education needed to eventually attend post-secondary school and achieve his goal of becoming a teacher.
