Precious

Precious is an imaginative 8-year-old girl living near Mombasa, Kenya. She is in grade 2, where mathematics and English are her favorite subjects. Precious enjoys drawing, playing soccer with her friends, and watching the sea waves flow to and from the ocean. Inspired to care for those around her, she dreams of becoming a doctor when she grows up so she can treat the sick in her community.

She lives with her mother, grandmother, and extended family in a dirt home with a metal sheet roof. Her mother is the sole breadwinner, relying on irregular casual domestic work to support the household. With no stable source of income, providing for basic household needs and keeping Precious in school presents a continuous financial strain. Reliable support provides essential relief to her family, ensuring she has access to learning materials and the stable foundation needed to pursue her education.
