Ruth

Ruth is an intelligent 7-year-old girl living in Terrier-Rouge, Nòdès, Haiti. She is currently in grade 1, where science, reading, and writing are her favorite subjects. Ruth is a caring child who loves singing, playing with dolls, and helping her family with household chores like washing dishes. Inspired to care for others, she dreams of becoming a nurse when she grows up so she can treat sick people.

She lives in a brick home with a metal sheet roof alongside her mother, sister, grandparents, and extended family. Her mother works hard to support the large household, but meeting basic daily needs and managing growing educational costs presents an ongoing financial struggle.
