Peter is a resilient 50-year-old father of six living in Kitui, Kenya. For years, he worked diligently as a local house contractor to support his large household. Tragically, his life took an unexpected turn when he suffered a severe fall from a roof, fracturing his left leg. The injury required a medical metal implant in his thigh for support, leaving him with a permanent disability that completely prevents him from returning to his trade or performing casual manual labor.
The accident has plunged the household into an incredibly difficult season. Peter, his spouse, and several family members are currently suffering from severe acute malnutrition, and Peter faces additional vision and dental challenges that urgently require specialized medical checkups. The family now depends entirely on his wife, who works tirelessly as a peasant farmer and casual laborer. Due to poor agricultural yields, they are facing a severe shortage of food and resources, making it a constant struggle to meet their most basic daily needs.
Sponsorship connects adults with disabilities to inclusive educational, occupational, and social activities and enables them to live dignified and healthy lives, regardless of their level of independence.
