Nayeli

Nayeli is an insightful 10-year-old girl living in Yapacaní, Bolivia. Currently in the fifth grade, she loves her language arts class, reading books, and dancing. Motivated by a deep desire to help her family and community, Nayeli works hard in school and dreams of becoming a doctor when she grows up.

She lives with her parents, a brother, and four sisters in a brick home with a calamine roof, where the family stays as caretakers of the property. Her mother works hard selling food from a cart, while her father is unable to work due to ongoing health challenges. Because the family relies on a single, informal income to support a large household, balancing daily necessities with educational costs is an ongoing struggle. Covering the necessary fees, textbooks, and uniform supplies for school presents a continuous hurdle, making consistent support essential to keeping Nayeli on the path to achieving her medical dreams.
