Naamwinguma

Naamwinguma is six years old and lives in Kunfaabiala, a small community outside Bamahu, Ghana. Currently in kindergarten, Naamwinguma really enjoys math class and understands the importance of school in helping her to achieve her goal of becoming a nurse after graduating. When Naamwinguma is not in school, she really enjoys playing soccer with her friends.

Naamwinguma lives with her parents and brother. Both parents are farmers who rely on their small farm to generate income. Unfortunately, the meager income they are able to generate is not enough to cover the family’s basic needs, let alone the growing school fees for the children. Being part of the Chalice sponsorship program would not only help ease the family’s tremendous financial burden, but it would also provide Naamwinguma a tremendous opportunity to continue her studies, and gain the foundational education she needs to go on to post-secondary school where she can achieve her goal of becoming a nurse.
