Domaku

This sweet little boy is Domaku, a six year old living in Piisi, a small farming community near Wa, Ghana. Domaku is currently in preschool where he is really enjoying math studies. He likes playing with toys and playing soccer with his friends. When Domaku is not in school, he likes to relax by singing and dancing. He is also a big fan of fufu with groundnut soup. While Donaku is still very young, he already knows he wants to become a police officer after graduating.

Domaku lives with his parents, two brothers, and sister. Both of his parents earn their income from small-scale farming. Unfortunately, the income they generate from farming is not sufficient to cover the family’s basic needs, including the children’s school fees. Being part of the Chalice sponsorship program would not only help the family ease their financial worries, but it would also provide Domaku a wonderful opportunity to remain in school, where he will gain the foundational education needed to eventually attend post-secondary school and achieve his goal of becoming a police officer.
