Monika

Monika is a bright eight-year-old girl from Darasuram, India. She happily goes to school where she is in Grade 4. She has many friends, including her best friend, Jencika, who she likes playing hide and seek with when they are not studying. Monika is also an avid chess player and hopes to become a lawyer when she finishes school.

Monika comes from a very large family. She lives with her parents, three brothers, and two sisters in a small thatched house. Her father is the sole provider and woks as a day labourer on farms. With such a large family to support on his meager wages, they often struggle.

Despite this, Monika’s parents do their best to make sure all the children attend school as they know education is the key to a better life. Being part of the sponsorship program would  greatly help this struggling family and ensure Monika continues her studies and eventually achieves her goals.

Sponsorship enables children to attend class every day and have the supplies they need to complete their education, grow up healthy, and achieve their dreams.
