Monica

Monica is a cheerful 10-year-old girl living in Kasisi, Zambia. Currently a third-grader, she is incredibly happy to be in school and performs very well in her classes. Her favorite subjects are mathematics, English, and literature. In her free time, Monica loves drawing, helping her mother with household chores, and playing traditional games with her best friends, Catherine, Justina, Patricia, and Flourishing. Every day, her father hitches up his bicycle to take her to school. Looking ahead, Monica dreams of taking to the skies as a pilot when she grows up.

She shares a brick home with a metal sheet roof alongside her parents, her brother, and two sisters. Her father works as a peasant farmer, and her mother is a general worker. Because all of the children in the house are of school age, providing for the family’s basic requirements has become an intense challenge. Their combined income simply does not cover their daily necessities and educational expenses. A steady sponsorship will lift this heavy financial strain, directly funding her nutrition, clothing, and learning materials so Monica can stay safely in the classroom.
