Evert

Evert is a motivated 13-year-old girl living in Mpika, Zambia. She loves going to school, shows good academic performance, and enjoys learning new things. Her favorite subjects include social studies, English, and science. In her free time, she loves reading books and playing netball with her best friends, Brendan and Theresa. Evert is also incredibly helpful at home, where she assists with chores, fetches water, works in the garden, and even cooks when her mother is away. She is driven to work hard so she can achieve her big dream of becoming a nurse.

She shares a brick home with a metal sheet roof alongside her parents, her brother, and three sisters. Her parents work as peasant farmers, but their limited income makes it a constant struggle to cover household expenses. They do not manage to pay school fees or consistently meet other basic necessities for their large family. A steady sponsorship will lift this profound financial burden from her parents, directly funding her education, food, and clothing so Evert can stay focused in the classroom.
