Herlina

Eleven-year old Herlina already knows she wants to be a nurse. Living in Previle, Haiti with her parents and three brothers, this friendly Grade 6 student loves hitting the books. Her favourite subjects are social studies and science, where she especially enjoys doing exciting experiments. When Herlina is not studying, she is playing hopscotch with her friends.

Herlina’s parents are both farmers, which can be an unreliable source of income that is highly dependent on the weather and crops. The family lives in a small home made of stone with a sheet-metal roof.

Sponsorship enables children to attend class every day and have the supplies they need to complete their education, grow up healthy, and achieve their dreams.
