Mary

Mary is a dedicated and hardworking 14-year-old girl living in Siaya, Kenya. She is currently in grade 8, where science and Christian Religious Education are her favorite subjects. Mary is an active and responsible child who enjoys gardening, playing netball, participating in school activities, and helping around the house by sweeping the compound and cooking. Driven by a desire to serve others in the medical field, she works hard in school and dreams of becoming a doctor or nurse when she grows up.

She lives in a dirt-walled home with a metal sheet roof alongside her parents, three brothers, two sisters, cousin, and stepsister. Her parents depend on small-scale farming to provide food and meet basic household needs. Supporting a large family through small-scale agriculture makes covering daily living necessities and paying for school levies, uniforms, and books an ongoing financial struggle.

Sponsorship enables children to attend class every day and have the supplies they need to complete their education, grow up healthy, and achieve their dreams.
