Kateryna

Kateryna is a bright and sociable 9-year-old girl living in a village in Western Ukraine. Currently a dedicated third-grade student, she loves going to school and excels in all of her subjects. In her free time, Kateryna enjoys attending a dance club at school, and at home, she loves being creative and helping her mother with household tasks, especially baking cupcakes.

She lives with her mother, Tetiana, and her grandparents in their home, as the family does not own a house of their own. Kateryna’s father is not involved in her upbringing, leaving her mother to raise her alone. Because there are no stable jobs available in their village, the family relies entirely on a small household farming plot and unpredictable seasonal work with a local farmer. With rising inflation and the ongoing strain of the war, the household budget is simply not enough to cover their most basic daily needs.

Sponsorship enables children to attend class every day and have the supplies they need to complete their education, grow up healthy, and achieve their dreams.
