Jose Luiz

Jose Luiz is a wonderful 9-year-old boy living in Santa Lucia, Bolivia. Jose Luis has an intellectual disability caused by an untreated illness. He is currently in Grade 1, but needs access to treatments and therapies to improve his quality of life. After Jose Luiz fell ill four years ago, his father left so his mother has been trying to raise John Luiz and his three siblings, David, Delia, and Eliceo as a single mother.

As the sole support for the family, Jose Luiz’ mother sells bread and other wares at the local market, but the income is not sufficient to care for the family, limiting John Luiz’ access to the much-needed treatments and services to improve his quality of life. Jose Luis loves playing with his brother and hopes to become a healthy, independent boy when his older.

The family lives in a wood Home with a Calamine roof. Receiving sponsorship would not only be a tremendous help for Jose Luiz, but it would ease the burden on his mother and ensure he can continue in school.

Sponsorship helps children with disabilities access and take part in educational programs with specialized teachers, accessible and inclusive spaces, and the right support to reach their full potential.
