Jessa

This caring 11 year old is Jessamine, although her friends and family just call her Jessa. She lives in Manila, Philippines where she is currently in Grade 5. She loves science class and works very hard to keep her grades up as she wants to become a teacher one day so she can help others learn and help to support her parents. When Jessa is not studying or in class, she likes to play volleyball and go out with her friends, including the group of her many best friends.

Jessa lives with her parents, brother, and three sisters in a small home that is constantly affected by flooding because of the high tides and heavy rain. Jessa’s father works as a construction worker and her mother takes care of her siblings and manages the household. Her parents understand the importance of education and constantly encourage Jessa and her siblings to achieve their dreams.

While Jessa’s father works full time, wages are minimal and with all the children’s school fees, it is difficult to mange their monthly expenses while ensuring Jessa has all the educational resources she needs. Being part of the sponsorship program would be a huge relief for this struggling family and would ensure Jessa continues to receive the foundational education to eventually achieve her goal of becoming a teacher. .

Sponsorship enables children to attend class every day and have the supplies they need to complete their education, grow up healthy, and achieve their dreams.
