Jenny

Jenny is a kind and helpful 7-year-old girl living in Manila, the Philippines. Currently a first grader, she is a dedicated student who loves language arts and Filipino class, as she enjoys learning about her own culture. In her free time, she likes playing volleyball, playing “house,” and playing tag with her friend Jimmy Riem Prience. Her favorite color is pink, her favorite meal is rice and fish, and she dreams of becoming a nurse when she grows up so she can care for others.

She lives with her parents, brother, and sister in a home made of plywood with a metal sheet roof. Her father works hard to provide for the family by selling ice cream. Because the family relies on a single, informal trade income, balancing daily household necessities with the rising costs of education is a constant struggle. Covering school supplies and fees for multiple growing children presents a continuous financial hurdle, making steady support vital to keeping Jenny focused on her studies.
