James

This little boy is James, a three year old from Mutunyi, Kenya. James is in preschool where his favourite subject is art. He loves watching planes in the sky and dreams of one day becoming a pilot so he can fly one of those planes. He is working on his alphabet and numbers and loves playing soccer with his friends. He has one sister, Makena.

James lives with his mother and sister. His mother works tirelessly as a a single parent, taking as many casual labour jobs as she can get, but the wages are meager and not sufficient to support the family. James’ mother receives no help from his father, who left when he was just six months old. Being part of the Chalice sponsorship program would be an incredible relief for his mother and would ensure that James is able to continue his studies, gaining the educational foundation he will need to eventually achieve his goal of becoming a pilot.

Sponsorship enables children to attend class every day and have the supplies they need to complete their education, grow up healthy, and achieve their dreams.
