Ivan

Ivan is a precious 9-year-old boy living in Kosiv City, Ukraine. Though he cannot walk or speak due to a congenital brain malformation, he communicates his joy through bright smiles and loves getting hugs, listening to music, and interacting with his sisters. When he grows up, he holds onto a beautiful dream of being a healthy and independent boy.

He lives in a two-room wooden home with his parents, two sisters, and his blind uncle, whom the family helps care for. Ivan requires constant care, pureed food, and regular rehabilitation courses, so his mother stays home while his father works part-time as a school janitor. The family faces severe financial strain because the majority of their income goes toward Ivan’s ongoing medical treatments and essential hygiene supplies.

Sponsorship enables children to attend class every day and have the supplies they need to complete their education, grow up healthy, and achieve their dreams.
