Imelda

Imelda is a 50-year-old woman living in Nakawale, Tanzania. A woman of deep faith, she finds immense comfort and joy in singing gospel music. She manages severe joint pain that has limited her physical energy, making it difficult to continue the demanding farm work that previously served as her livelihood.

She lives independently in a home constructed of brick with a metal sheet roof. Despite navigating very difficult living conditions and the challenges of managing her health alone, she remains dedicated to her faith and her community. Imelda is a resilient and steadfast woman whose love for music and enduring faith reflect her hopeful spirit.

Sponsorship connects adults with disabilities to inclusive educational, occupational, and social activities and enables them to live dignified and healthy lives, regardless of their level of independence.
