Harika

Harika is a determined 10-year-old girl from Makkuva, India. She is currently in Grade 4 and loves literature and language arts classes, although she enjoys everything about school, especially learning new things. When Harika is not in school, she likes to spend time playing games with her friends. She loves to run and stay active. Despite her young age, Harika already knows she wants to help others as a doctor after she finishes her studies.

Harika lives with her parents and sister. Both her mother and father do their best to support Harika’s education, despite the many financial difficulties they face. Harika’s father works as much as possible, but the work is inconsistent and the wages minimal. The family struggles to meet their daily needs. Even in the face of extreme hardship, they remain hopeful and committed to giving Harika a better future though education. Being part of the sponsorship program would be an incredible opportunity for Harika, as it would ensure she is able to finish her studies and go on to achieve her goal of becoming a doctor.
