Edgar

Little Edgar is a five-year-old boy in preschool. Living within our Luis Amigó site in Guatemala, Edgar already loves going to school. His favourite subject is art, which is not surprising because he loves to draw and paint!. He also loves playing with his dinosaurs and toy cars and especially likes spending time with his best friends Leonidas and Mateo.

Edgar is a real fan of fried chicken and melon but he loves playing soccer even more. He dreams of becoming a professional soccer player one day. He goes to church regularly and says he prays for God to take care of his family.

Edgar lives with his two sisters and mother in their small brick home with a sheet-metal roof. As a single mother, it can often be difficult for Edgar’s mother to raise the three children on her irregular income. She does her best to ensure the children can attend school, but the family is often without enough money to cover their basic expenses.

Unfortunately, this often includes the necessary school supplies for the three children. Sponsoring Edgar would be a big relief for his mother and would help ensure he can remain in school and see a brighter future.

Sponsorship enables children to attend class every day and have the supplies they need to complete their education, grow up healthy, and achieve their dreams.
