Dayra

Dayra is a cheerful and expressive 8-year-old girl living in Chiclayo, Peru. She is currently in grade 3, where art is her favorite subject. Dayra is a creative child who loves drawing, dancing, helping her friends, and enjoying meals like chicken with rice. Inspired by a desire to help others in her community, she works hard in school and dreams of becoming a nurse when she grows up.

She lives with her grandmother and other family members in a cement home with a calamine roof in a settlement outside the city. Her home community faces challenging living conditions with limited access to running water and unreliable sewage infrastructure. Relying on a modest household income while managing difficult living conditions makes covering daily necessities and ongoing school supplies a continuous financial struggle.

Sponsorship enables children to attend class every day and have the supplies they need to complete their education, grow up healthy, and achieve their dreams.
