Dayra

Dayra is a very friendly little eight year old in Grade 3. She lives in a very small settlement near Chiclayo, Peru called El Nazareno with limited water and a failing sewage system, making life very difficult. Dayra enjoys elementary school, especially art class where she likes to draw. When she’s not in class, Dayra loves to dance, and will do it whenever she can. After finishing her studies, this caring little girl hopes to become a nurse.

Dayra lives alone with her grandmother. Her mother lives in another city and sometimes visits, but her grandmother is the sole supporter. Being part of the sponsorship program would be a big help for Dayra and would ensure she is able to continue receiving the foundational education she needs to achieve her goal of becoming a nurse.

Sponsorship enables children to attend class every day and have the supplies they need to complete their education, grow up healthy, and achieve their dreams.
