Althea

Althea is a very kind, gentle six-year-old girl living in Manila, the Philippines. She is currently in preschool, but she is already enjoying learning about math and counting. Althea also enjoys writing, and hopes to one day become a teacher so she can help others learn while creating a better life for her family. When Althea is not in school, one of her favourite things to do is dance.

Althea lives with her parents, brother, and sister. Her father works as a delivery driver while her mother runs a small sari-sari store they borrowed money to open, hoping it will help improve their financial situation. Even though both of Althea’s parents work tirelessly, the income they are earning is not sufficient as her father has medical issues that often prevent him for working more. Being part of the sponsorship program would help ease this struggling family’s financial strain and would ensure that Althea can continue her studies with everything she needs to be successful and achieve her goal of becoming a teacher.

Sponsorship enables children to attend class every day and have the supplies they need to complete their education, grow up healthy, and achieve their dreams.
