Daphka

Daphka is caring 12-year-old girl from Mahotière, Haiti. Currently in Grade 4, Daphka says she is a little reserved but very hardworking and eager to achieve her dream of becoming a nurse because she wants to support her family and community. In the meantime, she is enjoying math class and likes helping around the house.

Daphka lives with her father, two brothers, and two sisters. As a single parent and a farmer, it is often challenging for her father to support his five children, especially covering all of their school fees. They currently live in a small home made of plywood with a sheet metal roof that is in desperate need of repairs. Being part of the sponsorship program would be a wonderful opportunity for Daphka. It would also be a huge financial relief for her father, who is working hard to support the family. It would ensure that Daphka is able to continue in school and eventually achieve her goal of becoming a nurse.
