Christine

Christine is a resilient 25-year-old young woman living in Mwangu, Kenya, where she shares a brick home with a metal sheet roof with her mother and two sisters. She is a positive and creative individual who enjoys knitting and worked hard to successfully complete her secondary education. As the second of three children, she cares deeply for her family and remains eager to continue her learning journey.

Following a severe illness during infancy, Christine developed long-term speech and language complications, including a stammer, as well as vision challenges in her left eye. Although she deeply desires to attend a specialized college to become a sign language teacher, she is currently delayed at home because her family lacks the financial means to pay for her further education.

Sponsorship connects adults with disabilities to inclusive educational, occupational, and social activities and enables them to live dignified and healthy lives, regardless of their level of independence.
