Carl

Carl, also known as “Zean” to his friends and family, is a 12-year-old boy from Pulilan, Philippines. His favourite subject in Grade 6 is religion and values. When he is not in school, he loves playing badminton and drawing. He is also a big fan of potatoes and grapes. Carl enjoys helping his mother at home by washing the dishes and cleaning the house. Carl has big dreams of becoming an engineer after he graduates so he can help uplift the living conditions for others and help his family enjoy a better future.

Carl lives with his father, stepmother, and half-sister in a small one-room house. His father is a factoryworker while his mother stays home to care for the family. His father works hard, but the wages are minimal. Being part of the sponsorship program would help ease this family’s financial strain and ensure Carl is able to continue his studies and achieve his goal of becoming an engineer so he can better the lives of others.

Sponsorship enables children to attend class every day and have the supplies they need to complete their education, grow up healthy, and achieve their dreams.
