Brigette

Brigette is a bright 9-year-old girl living in Manila, the Philippines. She is a dedicated second-grade student who loves math class, and she is highly motivated to study hard so she can go to college and make her family proud. In her free time, she enjoys playing hide-and-seek and traditional games with her friends, and her favorite food is her mother’s homemade adobong pusit. Driven by a compassionate heart, Brigette dreams of becoming a doctor when she grows up so she can help care for people who are sick.

She lives with her family in a cement home with a metal sheet roof. Her mother stays at home to care for the children, while her stepfather works as a truck helper. Supporting a large household with five siblings on a single, informal income creates a constant financial struggle to cover daily necessities and school costs. The sponsorship program provides a critical foundation for Brigette, offering the consistent resources her family needs to ensure she can stay healthy and focused on her education.
