Anhelina

Anhelina is a bright and resilient 7-year-old girl living in Kolomyia Town, Ukraine, where she resides with her family in a brick home with an asbestos roof. Currently studying in the 1st grade, Anhelina loves art class, has already learned all her letters, and can count. A joyful and social child, she enjoys playing tag and games with her classmates. When she grows up, she dreams of becoming a doctor so she can cure children and find the right treatment for them.

Anhelina lives in a single-parent household with her mother, Nataliia, occupying one room in her grandfather’s house. Her father left the family before she was born. Due to the severe lack of employment opportunities in their village, her mother works hard to earn a living by doing cleaning for neighbors and selling her custom embroidery. To help secure their family’s nutrition, they also cultivate a small vegetable garden together. The family faces severe financial hardships and the terrifying daily reality of ongoing hostilities, frequently needing to seek safety in bomb shelters from missiles flying overhead. Because of these immense economic and conflict-driven challenges, the sponsorship program provides a critical lifeline, offering essential nutritional support, educational resources, and a sense of security.

Sponsorship provides Anhelina with access to nutritious food, quality education, medical care, and the essential resources she needs to stay healthy, stay in school, and work toward her dream of becoming a doctor.
