Alexa

Alexa is a Grade 2 student in Dampol, Philippines. Now eight years old, she really enjoys history and literature because she is eager to learn and improve her reading and writing skills. She aspires to be a teacher when she grows up so she can help other children learn. Alexa also likes reading, drawing, and playing traditional games with her friends because she finds them fun and more exciting.

Alex, her mother, and sister live in one room at their Aunt’s home because Alexa’s parents are separated. As a single parent, Alexa’s mother works as an on-call cleaner but the work is not consistent and the income not enough to support the family. She is looking for stable employment but finding a suitable job in her community can be difficult. Being part of the sponsorship program would help her mother support her daughters and ensure Alexa continues in school where she will get a foundational education to attend post-secondary school.

Sponsorship enables children to attend class every day and have the supplies they need to complete their education, grow up healthy, and achieve their dreams.
