Rising costs and limited access to basic supplies prevent many families from purchasing required textbooks and school supplies, putting children at risk of delayed enrollment, absenteeism, or early withdrawal from school.
This initiative offers emergency education support to sponsored children in Haiti South, ensuring continuous learning during ongoing economic turmoil.

This Back-to-School Education Support program will provide 1,192 sponsored
students from the Jeremie, Latiboliere, Previle, Carrefour-Sanon, and Roseaux sites with the funds to purchase essential schoolbooks and required materials for the 2026/2027 school year. Previous initiatives successfully helped children cover their school fees, finish their academic year, and provided struggling families relief from the significant financial burden associated with education. Overall, the program contributed to sustained school participation and satisfaction among students and their caregivers.
Program funds for this program will be distributed at the beginning of the school year, and Chalice field workers and community leaders will monitor school attendance and academic progress.
Chalice program directors will measure the program’s success through:
- Confirmation from parents and schools that students obtained the required learning materials
- Attendance tracking during the first term of the academic year
- Feedback from teachers about student preparedness and participation
Given Haiti’s ongoing economic and security challenges, Chalice will review the program annually.
