Tabitha

Tabitha is a jovial and resilient 99-year-old woman living in Kitui, Kenya. Known for her warm and happy nature, she enjoys singing and engaging in small-scale peasant farming in her garden. After breaking her right leg, which required a metal implant, she has had to reduce her farming activities and work at a much slower pace.

She lives in a single-roomed brick home with a metal sheet roof alongside her four adult sons. Her primary support comes from her married daughters, as her sons work as casual laborers with limited capacity to assist her. Her age, physical limitations, and minimal crop yields make covering daily living expenses, medical care, and basic nutrition an ongoing challenge.
