Shantel

Shantel is a dedicated and creative 9-year-old girl living in Siaya, Kenya. She is currently in grade 5, where language arts (Kiswahili) is her favorite subject. Shantel loves going to school, drawing with her best friend, playing soccer, and helping keep her home clean. Inspired by her teachers and driven by a desire to share knowledge and care for her family, she dreams of becoming a teacher when she grows up.

She lives in a home with dirt walls and a metal sheet roof alongside her sister, grandmother, and two uncles. Her elderly grandmother is sick and requires extra care and support. Supporting an extended family household on limited resources makes covering daily living expenses, healthcare needs, and essential school supplies an ongoing financial challenge.

Sponsorship enables children to attend class every day and have the supplies they need to complete their education, grow up healthy, and achieve their dreams.
