Rita

Rita is a very friendly 14-year-old girl living in Nandom, Ghana. Currently in Grade 6, Rita has a dream of becoming a nurse so she can have a better life. She is a very bright girl who loves math, reading, and drawing. When she’s not studying so she can continue to make good grades, Rita likes playing ampe, a popular Ghanaian childhood game, with her friends.

Rita’s father passed away last year and her mother is a very small-scale farmer, which does not bring in enough income to support Rita and her three brothers. As a single parent, Rita’s mother does her best but it has been very challenging since her husband’s passing. Sponsoring Rita would make a huge difference in this family’s life and would help ensure Rita is able to continue in school so she can achieve her goals.

Sponsorship enables children to attend class every day and have the supplies they need to complete their education, grow up healthy, and achieve their dreams.
