Rishma

Rishma lives with her parents and two brothers in Tamil Nadu, India. She is currently in grade 7 and literature is her favourite subject. When she is not busy with school work, this 11 year old likes to draw, spend time with her friends, and play kabaddi. Her father supports the family as a fisherman – however, due to chronic illness, he is unable to work regularly and needs to take continuous medication. Rishma dreams of becoming a government officer when she grows up so that she can support her family. Sponsorship enables children to attend class every day and have the supplies they need to complete their education, grow up healthy, and achieve their dreams.
