Mutave is a 75-year-old woman from Mui, Kenya. She enjoys weaving and has long loved crafting traditional baskets.
Mutave lives in a brick house with a sheet metal roof with her 95-year-old husband, one of her children, and a granddaughter. Her children are grown, but the family continues to support one another as best they can.
Due to blurry vision and chronic pain, Mutave is no longer able to work in her garden or weave baskets as she once did. The family has no steady source of income and relies on the support of well-wishers.
Despite these challenges, Mutave remains a strong and resilient woman, carrying a lifetime of skill, tradition, and love for her family.
