Milko

Milko is a responsible and caring 10-year-old boy from Sagrado Corazón de Jesús, Peru. In Grade 5, Milko already understands the importance of school and studies hard so he can be a successful businessman when he graduates. His mother is very supportive of his education and regularly helps him with his schoolwork.

Milko says that when he’s not hitting the books so he can achieve his goals, he loves playing soccer with his friends or enjoying his favourite meal — tallarines verdes, green spaghetti.

Milko lives with his parents in a small home made of thick, earthen walls (adobe) with a calamine roof. The home does not have a sewage system. His father works hard as a security guard to support the family while his mother stays home to care for Milko and ensure he keeps up with his studies.

Although his father works very hard to ensure the family has everything they need, it is often difficult to meet the monthly expenses. Sponsoring Milko would help the family ensure he succeeds in school and eventually achieves his goals.

Sponsorship enables children to attend class every day and have the supplies they need to complete their education, grow up healthy, and achieve their dreams.
